    AILWC- All India Letter Writing Competition (अखिल भारतीय पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता) is a letter writing campaign which is conducted by India Post. It is also known as “Dhai Akhar” and the theme is “Dear Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi) You Inspire Me” [प्रिय बापू (महात्मा गांधी) तुम मुझे प्रेरित करते हैं]. Applications are invited for this award programme by India Post in every academic year. This competition is open to all age groups and all person, there is no discrimination (भेदभाव) for any caste/religion. The competition is in two categories- first one is Inland Letter Card (Minimum 500 words) and second one it Envelope Category (Minimum 1000 words). And it can be written on plain A-4 size paper (सादे A-4 आकार का पेपर) and in any language i.e. English/Hindi or any local languages.

    Procedure to Apply for All India Letter Writing Competition (Dhai Akhar 2017-18) by India Post
    As we told in above that All India Letter Writing Competition “Dhai Akhar” is an opened competition programme (प्रतियोगिता कार्यक्रम), any person of any age group can apply for this competition. The letter can be written on plain A-4 size paper and will not more than 500 words in an Inland Letter Card (अंतर्देशीय पत्र कार्ड) and 1000 words in an Envelope category. The winning Cash Prize is up to Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only). The last date of application is 15th August 2017. There are 2 categories up to 18 years and above 18 years and the best 3 candidates in both categories will be shortlisted for Cash Prize (नकद इनाम). The details are as follows:
    (A) Prize and awards (पुरस्कार)-
    1. 1st prize in each category is Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only)
    2. 2nd prize is Rs. 25, 000/- (Rupees twenty-five thousand only)
    3. The 3rd cash prize is Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only)
    (B) Circle Level Prize Winner (सर्किल स्तर पुरस्कार विजेता)-
    1. 1st prize in each category is Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees twenty-five thousand only)
    2. The 2nd cash prize is Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only)
    3. 3rd prize is Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees five thousand only)

    How to Apply for All India Letter Writing Competition (Dhai Akhar 2017-18)?
    The willing students can apply for letter writing campaign (पत्र लेखन अभियान) through offline mode only. There is no gateway available to apply online for All India Letter Writing Competition. The students must have to visit the nearest Post Office and post the letters in a special letterbox only. The application can be done by doing the following procedure:
    • The letter should be addressed to Chief Postmaster General of the respective circles (संबंधित सर्कल के चीफ पोस्टमास्टर जनरल).
    • In the rural area (ग्रामीण क्षेत्र), a letter will be given to the local Branch Head Office(BO), then the BOs will dispatch it to respective Head Post Office (HO) or Sub Post Office (SO).
    • In the small town, the letter should be given to the Main Post Office (मुख्य डाकघर).
    • In the district headquarters and larger towns and cities, a special box will be placed after clearly earmarked “Letter Writing Campaign”.

    Selection Process (चयन प्रक्रिया): - Letters will be accepted until the due date, after that, no letter will be entertained by the department. The best three in a circle in each category will be shortlisted and will be sent to the Directorate (प्रबंध-विभाग). Out of these letters, only the best three writing letters would be chosen in each of the categories. Then after, these letters will be sent to Sabarmati Ashram (साबरमती आश्रम) by the concerned person. After selection, the writers of these letters will be awarded in a function in Sabarmati Ashram on 2nd October 2017. Also, the letters will be showcasing in the exhibition, letters were written by eminent personalities and of historical significance (प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्तित्व और ऐतिहासिक महत्व), letters from small children, important letters from government offices to people and vice versa, letters exchanged between eminent personalities etc.
    • Last Date of Application (आवेदन की अंतिम तिथि): - 15th August 2017
    • The award will be distributed: - 2nd October 2017

    Results of letter writing competition by India post is announced??
    Because today's is October 2nd...
    As it says on this day results was supposed to be announced..
