The Welfare Department of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities (अनुसूचित जाति/जनजाति/अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग/अल्पसंख्यक कल्याण विभाग) invites applications from meritorious students for Delhi Merit Scholarship for Scheduled Caste/Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Minority Students. This scholarship is available for the students who are studying in Class 1st to Class 12th and belongs to such above communities. Those students are eligible to make applications for the scholarship and the selection of the student will be done on the basis of the merit list (मेरिट सूची के आधार पर). The application is completely offline and the students need to submit their application forms (आवेदन पत्र) to the Principal of their respective schools. The selected students will get a scholarship based on the class in which they are studying and on the basis of the marks obtained by them in their previous class. There is a difference of scholarship according to their category, the details are as follows: For the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority communities- The scholarship (छात्रवृत्ति) will be offered from class 1st onwards. For the candidates belonging to OBC community (ओबीसी समुदाय)- The scholarship will be offered to the students from class 6th onwards. ~@~Procedure to Apply for DMSS- Delhi Merit Scholarships Scheme to the Students of SC/ST/OBC/Minority Communities~@~Applications are now invited for Delhi Merit Scholarship (दिल्ली मेरिट स्कॉलरशिप) and the last date for submission of the application is 31st August 2017. Any Indian students who belong to SC/ST/OBC/Minority Communities and studying Classes 1st of 12th are eligible to apply for this scholarships scheme. The amount of scholarship being offered to the students depends upon the student’s category (छात्र की श्रेणी) and also with the mark percentage (अंक प्रतिशत)secured by the candidates in the previous class. The details of rate of scholarship are as follows: For the candidates of SC/ST/Minority (अनुसूचित जाति/जनजाति/अल्पसंख्यक) Categories- The scholarship amount is Rs. 1000/- per annum for Class 1st to 8th (No minimum percentage marks are required). The scholarship amount for the OBC students (ओबीसी छात्र) - Rs. 600/- pa for Class 6th to 8th (55% or above marks are required) and above 60% marks, the stipend amount would be Rs. 720/- pa. Maintenance allowance (अनुरक्षण भत्ता) for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Candidates- Rs. 1620/- pa for Class 9th & 10th (Minimum 55% or above marks are required) and above 60% marks, the amount would be Rs. 2040/- pa. For the Candidates of SC/ST/OBC/Minority Communities- The scholarship grant (छात्रवृत्ति अनुदान) is Rs. 3000/- for the students of Class 11th to 12th (Minimum 55% or below 70% marks) and above 70% marks, the grand will be Rs. 4,500/- pa. Conditions of Eligibility for Delhi Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students- In order to apply for Delhi Merit Scholarship Scheme, the students must meet the following minimum criteria. This scholarship is available only for the students who belong to reserved categories (आरक्षित श्रेणियां) i.e. SC/ST/OBC/Minority Communities. Also, the student must be a permanent resident (स्थायी निवासी) of Delhi. Students should be studying in Classes 1st to 12th from any recognized Government or Private Schools/Institutions in Delhi. As per the academic qualification (शैक्षिक योग्यता), there are no minimum marks required for Classes 1st to 8th but classes 9th to 12th 55% or above marks are required. For the OBC candidates, the scholarship is available only for Classes 6th to 12th. There is no criterion (मापदंड) of minimum family income for SC/ST students but for OBC/Minority students the family income should be less than Rs. 2 lakh per annum from all sources. How to Apply for Delhi Merit Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students? Applications for Delhi Merit Scholarship to the Students of SC/ST/OBC/Minority Communities will be filled by offline mode only. There is no online gateway to apply or fill an application. The scholarship applications are to be filled by all eligible students and submitted to their respective Schools/Institutions Heads (संबंधित स्कूल/संस्था प्रमुख) in order to complete the application process. Students are advised to read the given below instructions before applying for. First of all, the applicant needs to fill an application in prescribed form. To download the “Application Form” (आवेदन प्रपत्र), please click the given below link. However, the applicant can also collect the application form from their respective school/institution. Then after, fill up the application form carefully and fill all mandatory details (अनिवार्य विवरण) to avoid rejection. First, paste student’s passport size photograph in prescribed place (निर्धारित स्थान) and then fill the details of students like Name, Roll Number, Father’s/Guardian’s Name, Class, Hosteller/Day Scholar, Category (SC/ST/OBC/Minority) etc. In the next section, give declaration (घोषणा) that the information given above is true to the best of your knowledge & belief. The last section will be filled by the applicant’s school/institution head and same will be verified by Principal/Head of the Institution (संस्थानों के प्रमुख/प्रिंसिपल). Once the application form is completely filled-up, submit it along with supporting documents to the Head of the School/Institution. The school administration will be checked with the official record, if found correct then the application will be certified by signature with the seal of the Principal/Headmaster of the institution. After that, the application will be forwarded to the concerned department for the further process. It’s to be noted that no individual applications directly from the students will not be entertained by the department.
